Description


  • The Network Operations Centre (NOC) Field Engineer is responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and integrity of Tizeti’s network infrastructure and base stations.
  • The role supports real-time network operations, fault resolution, preventive maintenance, and field activities to ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and uninterrupted service delivery.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with internal technical teams and external partners and will participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, operate, and maintain network infrastructure, including base stations, access points, routers, and core network systems, to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Perform continuous network monitoring, incident detection, root-cause analysis, and fault resolution in accordance with defined SLAs.
  • Build, deploy, install, upgrade, configure, and maintain network and base station equipment in line with engineering and operational standards.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure network stability, security, and maximum uptime.
  • Implement approved network and configuration changes in compliance with established change management procedures.
  • Provide proactive network surveillance, fault management, and security monitoring to minimize service disruptions.
  • Log, manage, escalate, and resolve trouble tickets through to closure within agreed timelines.
  • Collaborate with Customer Support, Managed Services, and Engineering teams to resolve customer-impacting incidents and escalations.
  • Interface with carriers, vendors, and third-party service providers to support network operations and issue resolution.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, reports, and logs of network events, changes, and configurations.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, including planned and emergency out-of-hours support.
  • Ensure base stations consistently achieve and maintain a minimum 99% uptime in line with target SLAs.

Requirements
Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of Second Class Upper (2:1), or Upper Credit (HND).
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)is an added Advantage
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)is an added Advantage
  • Other relevant networking or telecommunications certifications

Knowledge & Competencies:

  • Practical experience in network operations, NOC support, or field engineering within a telecom or ISP environment.
  • Strong understanding of IP networking, routing, switching, and wireless technologies.
  • Proven troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation and reporting capabilities.
  • Willingness to work shifts and participate in a 24/7 on-call support rotation.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance to ensure uptime is maintained and perform corrective maintenance in the event of network downtime.
  • Perform network equipment upgrade, installation, andconfiguration.
  • Provide active network surveillance, maintenance, and fault management to ensure optimum uptime, network stability, and security.
  • Ensure that the base stations have 99% uptime by Target SLAS
  • Ensure stable and reliable network services (e.g, accesspoints,servicenetworks, andcorenetwork)
  • Day-to-day network performance monitoring.
  • Network trouble shooting and faultanalysis; hardware trouble shooting andrepair
  • Resolution of trouble and fault analysis; carrier interface and escalation.
  • Deployment and maintenance of network monitoring, analysis, and reporting tools.
  • Application of configuration changes via our change control systems and processes.
  • Installation of network hardware and software.

Salary
N150,000 - N180,000 / month.
